Relief Distribution to 35 Chepang Families in Okrang Chitwan

Relief distribution has been completed to 35 Chepang families of Okrang under Rapti Municipality-12 of Chitwan.
Hong Kong resident Akash Banjara, director of Uddhar News.com, provided the funds for the purchase of the relief items.

Ravi Lal Bhatta, Chairman of Uddar Media Pvt. Ltd. and KP Kiran Sharma, chairman of Gambesi Chepang Conservation Center, has distributed food to 35 very poor Chepang households in Okrang.

The relief has been distributed to the marginalized Chepang community living in remote hilly areas where they can barely produce food for six months year-round farming.

Banjara, a resident of Hong Kong, has sent aid money after knowing the people are in need of food due to the ongoing lockdown through the coronavirus COVID 19, which has spread as a global epidemic.

The 35 households affected by the food shortage were provided 25 kg of rice, 2 kg of pulses, 1 pack of salt and 1 pack of oil.

Social Worker Murli Prasad Gajurel, Social Worker and Journalist Ravi Roshi, Journalist Rajdil Gurung, Manoj Gurung and Amrit Vasti of Ratnanagar Municipality also played an unforgettable role in managing the procurement and transportation of food for relief distribution program.

Even before this, social worker Banjara had been providing food and educational materials to the needy families of Chitwan and Nepal.
